Waka Whakarei is the Horouta Whānau Ora back Office Team housed by lead partner Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou.Waka Whakarei is a richly and beautifully adorned canoe, we draw upon this traditional analogy to speak to the vessel which carries our whānau to Te Pae Tawhiti. In an organisational context, the name speaks to the essential roles, responsibilities, and obligations of Horouta Whānau Ora, how we work in unison, independent yet vitally interconnected, with each part contributing towards the betterment of the whole. By moving as one, collective in mind and effort, our work creates the vessel which carries our whānau to their aspired destination of change and transformation
